D MAGIC CARPETS ist ein vierjähriges internationales Förderungsprojekt für aufstrebende KünstlerInnen aller Sparten, das vom Programm „creative europe culture“ der EU-Kommission hauptfinanziert wird. Im Plattformprojekt „ MAGIC CARPETS sind insgesamt 15 Kultur- und Kunsteinrichtungen aus EU-Mitgliedsländern sowie EU-Beitrittskandidaten beteiligt. Österreich ist durch openspace.innsbruck – Verein zur Förderung der Alltagskultur vertreten.
Der „fliegende Teppich“ wird hier zu einer überzeugenden Metapher für die Macht der Kultur, die das Misstrauen und die Konfrontation im interkulturellen Dialog mit gegenseitigem Verständnis, Respekt und Liebe zu verändern sucht.
E MAGIC CARPETS is a four-year international promotion project for up-and-coming artists from all genres that is financed primarily by the creative europe culture programme of the EU Commission. The platform project MAGIC CARPETS includes fifteen cultural and art institutions in EU member states as well as EU candidate countries. Austria is represented by openspace.innsbruck – Verein zur Förderung der Alltagskultur.
The magic carpet here turns into a convincing metaphor for the power of culture, which aims to transform distrust and confrontation in cultural dialogue through mutual understanding, respect and love.
