Memories of Memories. Oradour in Schwaz – Gespräche in der Installation

D Die Installation „Memories of Memories“ vor dem Ferdinandeum thematisiert die Erinnerungen an das Lager Oradour in Schwaz im Kontext von Nationalsozialismus und Nachkriegszeit. Der Künstler Arno Gisinger präsentiert Fotografien, die Denkräume für verschiedene Erinnerungen eröffnen. Seine Serie „Travelling“, entstanden am ehemaligen Standort von Oradour in Schwaz, trifft auf Bilder des französischen Orts Oradour-sur-Glane, welcher heute eine Gedenkstätte ist. Die Installation beinhaltet auch Filmstills eines neuen Videos von Christine Ljubanovic sowie historische Fotos des französischen Journalisten Gaston Paris, der 1945 das Lager in Schwaz fotografierte. Diese Arbeiten thematisieren die Wirkmacht kollektiver und individueller Erinnerungen und den Versuch, Vergessenes wieder sichtbar zu machen.
E The installation “Memories of Memories” in front of the Ferdinandeum is based on the memories of the Oradour camp in Schwaz in the context of National Socialism and the post-war years. Artist Arno Gisinger presents photographs that open up conceptual spaces for various memories. His series “Travelling”, shot at the former site of Oradour in Schwaz, is shown next to images of the French village Oradour-sur-Glane, which today is a memorial site. The installation also includes film stills from a new video by Christine Ljubanovic as well as historical photographs by the French journalist Gaston Paris, who photographed the Schwaz camp in 1945. These works address the power of collective and individual memories and the attempt to make the forgotten visible again.
