Performance von Vivian Crespo Zurita & Alessandra dos Santos Silva & Gespräch mit Marissa Lôbo

D Die Performance NOSOTRAS por NOSOTRAS, was übersetzt soviel heißt wie „Wir für uns“, präsentiert eine Vision der kubanischen Künstlerin Vivian Crespo Zurita. Durch Kunst begibt sie sich in Opposition zu jenen, die unterdrücken, ausbeuten und systematisch Rassismus ausüben. Zusammen mit der brasilianischen Künstlerin Alessandra dos Santos Silva erschafft Crespo Zurita neue Figuren, die sich durch mystische Welten bewegen. Die Performance-Künstlerinnen greifen Traditionen auf, unterziehen diese jedoch einer zeitgenössischen Interpretation. Hier wird Kunst zum Schild, zur Stimme gegen physische und psychologische Gewalt.
Vivian Crespo Zurita, in Kuba geboren und aufgewachsen, lebt mittlerweile in Wien und studiert an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien. Sie hat an zahlreichen internationalen Kunstfestivals und Projekten teilgenommen. Ihr Hauptthema ist post-kolonialer Aktivismus.
Alessandra dos Santos Silva, geboren und aufgewachsen in Brasilien, lebt in Wien. Sie studierte an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien und bedient sich der Medien Bildhauerei, Malerei, Tanz und Performance.
Nach der Performance findet ein Gespräch mit der Kuratorin Marissa Lôbo statt. Sie wird das Programm von kültüř gemma! vorstellen, das die künstlerische Arbeit von Migrant*innen und BI_PoC fördert und Stipendien in Wien vergibt. Marissa Lôbo ist Kuratorin der Ausstellung von Ayrson Heráclito Healing Technologies and Affections (zu sehen im Kunstraum Innsbruck).
Das Event wird organisiert als Kooperation zwischen Kunstraum Innsbruck, kültüř gemma! und der Fakultät für Bildungswissenschaften der Universität Innsbruck (im Rahmen des Projekts „Universität bewegt die Stadt“).
E The performance NOSOTRAS por NOSOTRAS, translated as “we for us,” presents a transfiguring view of the Cuban artist Vivian Crespo Zurita. Through art, she opposes those who oppress, exploit and systematically practice racism. Together with Brazilian artist Alessandra dos Santos Silva, Crespo Zurita creates new figures that move through mystical worlds. The performers take up traditions, but subject them to a contemporary examination. Here, art is a shield, a voice against physical and psychological violence.
Vivian Crespo Zurita, born and raised in Cuba, currently lives in Vienna and studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She has participated in numerous international art festivals and projects. Her main focus is on decolonial activism.
Alessandra dos Santos Silva, born and raised in Brazil, lives in Vienna. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is engaged in sculpture, painting, dance and performance.
After the performance there will be a talk with the curator Marissa Lôbo. She will introduce the programme of kültüř gemma! which promotes the artistic work of migrants* and BI_PoC and awards grants and fellowships in Vienna. Marissa Lôbo is the curator of the exhibition Ayrson Heráclito Healing Technologies and Affections (on view at Kunstraum Innsbruck).
The event is organized as a cooperation between Kunstraum Innsbruck, kültüř gemma! and the University of Innsbruck/Faculty of Educational Sciences (within the framework of the project “University Moves the City”).
