Ein künstlerischer Selbstversuch mit mythologischem Brennmaterial
Kein Licht von einer Kerze, keine Wärme von einem Feuer –selbst beim Kochen reicht es, nur einen Schalter zu drehen. Das Knistern, Flackern, Zischen undKnacken des Feuers, einst vertraute Geräusche, klingen heute wie ferne Erinnerungen. In dieser Performance begeben wir uns auf die Suche nach dem Feuer –oder nach einem Ort, an dem es einmal gebrannt hat. Wir werfen einen Blick auf die moderne Welt, in der das Feuer längst durch Strom gezähmt wurde.
Die Performance ist ein künstlerisches Ping-Pong der beiden Künstlerinnen, ein Wechselspiel von akustischen und visuellen Eindrücken, die das flackernde Licht der Flammen heraufbeschwören. Dabei wird das Feuernicht nur als physisches Phänomen, sondern auch als mythisches und kulturelles Symbol untersucht –ein künstlerischer Selbstversuch mit mythologischem Brennmaterial.

An artistic self-experiment with mythological fuel
No light from a candle, no warmth from a fire. Even when we’recooking, it’s enough simply to turn a switch. The crackle, flicker, hissing and cracking of fire, once familiar noises, today sound like distant memories. In this performance we want to go in search of fire –or of the place where it used to burn. We take a look at the modern world where fire has been tamed through electricity long since.
The performance is an artistic ping-pong between the two artists, an interplay of acoustic and visual impressions evoking the flickering light of flames. In the process, fire is examined not just as a physical phenomenon but also as a mythical and cultural symbol –an artistic self-experiment with mythological fuel, so to speak.
